  2. Consider the budget. Cast your mind back to similar events you have attended in the past. What do you need? Use a spreadsheet to keep track of your requirements and your outgoing costs.
  3. Catering is an all-important consideration. Make a short list of potential caterers/venues and be sure to ask for referrals. Don't forget to check the dietary requirements of your guests.
  4. If you are supplying entertainment or guest speakers, ensure that you book early in order to avoid disappointment. Brief the entertainers/guest speakers as to the running order of the event.
  5. On the day itself, use the services of an Event Co-ordinator or nominate a member of your team to be the "go-to" person and key point of contact for all enquiries.
